Twitter has become a very important tool for financial investors, analysts and traders because it contains real-time information on how individuals feel about stocks, using the $SYMBOL format.
I wanted to tap into this incredible resource to determine whether the general sentiment is bullish or bearish for a stock, so I built Tradefilter to see how I could use the information on Twitter in realtime to process all tweets for a stock symbol automatically.
When you add a symbol to your list, Tradefilter starts tracking it immediately and calculates a Sentiment Score, which is represented as a percentage. The higher the percentage, the more bullish investors appear to feel towards that stock, whereas the lower the percentage, a more bearish mood is prevalent.
Tradefilter is an experimental work in progress and as such I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions about improvements I could make. I am interested in any feedback you may have, so please click the Suggest button beneath the Symbol list and together we can make this a valuable and free resource for investors everywhere.
I sincerely hope that this software becomes a valuable part of your investing toolkit. The more feedback I get, the better I can make the application, so please help to spread the word.
Thanks for using Tradefilter
